Cell Bio Journal Club 2026 Spring Calendar
Join the Cell Bio Journal Club: Explore, Present, and Connect Through Molecular and Cellular Biology
The Weill Institute’s Cell Biology Hub invites members of the Cornell community to join and present at the Cell Bio Journal Club, a monthly gathering to bring together faculty and trainees in molecular and cellular biology to discuss exciting advances, exchange ideas, and foster collaborations. We invite volunteers to present cutting-edge papers in any area of cell biology.

“The CBJC has a long history. It began around 1985, and has been running continuously almost every Friday. It even survived the pandemic through a transition to virtual meetings and back again. Our resident Cornell historian, Tony Bretscher, estimates that the CBJC has discussed about 1,400 papers (I like to imagine journal clubs before powerpoint).” – Jorgensen, J. (2020), CBJC Listserv
Presenting at Journal Club offers participants the opportunity to:
- Practice scientific presentation skills in a supportive setting
- Engage with peers from diverse fields
- Share perspectives on new techniques, methods, or applications
Graduate students, postdocs, faculty, and staff are all encouraged to participate. Articles may be drawn from a wide range of disciplines, or you may choose to lead a discussion on a specific technique or application of interest.
CBJC Coordinator: Xuran Chen (xc532)
CBJC Faculty Advisor: Yuxin Mao (ym253)
